I am converting from all fish to 50-50 reef & fish. I have a 60 Gallon cube. I would like an Anenoome for my Clowns as well as lots of Corals and here's the lighting that was recommended and sold to me by my LFS ...
I have 2 sets
of these:

And 1 of these:

Didn't buy them from there but it's the link I got when I searched. Bought at LFS and that's what they recommended. ??? The LFS I go to is very well respected in San Diego. I'm not sure why they would have any reason sell me the wrong thing? I told them exactly what my plans were for my tank.

that's not enough light for an anemone.
For under $200 you could have gotten a 250w MH retro and get a two bulb t-5 retro with two actinic bulbs for another $125.
also you can't link to competitors of this site, I'm sure the mods will remove them once they see them.

Ditto about posting links, When in doubt always go with the most highest lighting you can afford, then you dont limit yourself.. In you Anemone case you need at least VHO or Hallides, When in doubt go with the watts per gallon method even though there are many factors that go along with that... 6 or 7 watts per gallon..

If my math serves me right you will have 325 watts over a 60 gallon tank.
That's over 5 watts per gallon. A good friend of mine has kept a anemone in a 75 gallon tank with just 300 watts of pc lighting. The anemone has been in there 2 years and has more than tripled in size. (note - it took his clowns 14 months to start using the anemone)

dont listen to the watts per gallon thing.
you dont have enough light for an anemone, even if it is 5 watts per gallon.
id suggest returning the lights and doing your research before you buy anything from them again.
to keep an anemone in that size tank, you want at least 2x 175 MH.

u also want to make sure ur tank is at least 6 months old. some hardier anemones like the haitian pink tip will do fine w the light u mentioned. i know someone who has kept his for the last 8 months under pc. good luck!
