i just bought 250w metal halide kit for my 50 gal salt .........it came with the bulb ballast and reflector .......do i need anything else like a fan or anything please help i am new to the hobby

If you put it inside a canopy you will need a fan if it makes the water tempeture rise too much. If its a pendant that you hang over the tank just keep it high enoug that the temp. does not change.

right on i am gonna have to look into getting a fan since i am going to go look at canopys tomorrow ....thanks alot for the info

If i were you then i would make my own canopy because it will save you money and you can make it the way you want!!!
