Lighting help!

I know this is going to sound dumb, but I don't know how to set my lights to come on automatically. They came with the tank that I bought used, so I'm not real sure how to set the timer. The people I bought it off of said that they had the timer set so the lights come on at a certain time and go off at a certain time...I want to do this! I know the lights are pc's...
Any suggestions on where to even look to set the timer?
Thanks!

Follow the plug from the lights to the timer. you should see litttle on/off pins on it. adjust to what you want. Worst case plug in the lights and timer when it goes off, pull the plug from the wall, plug it back in at the time of day you want your lights to go off. It will then be on the same schedule that they set.

Ok, so what happens if I follow the chord from the power strip all the way to the light and theres NOTHING on it? Were they lying about having timers set??

The reason this comes up is because I am going camping Sat morning, Sun, Mon and coming home Tues. I want my tank to have lighting for 10-12 hours daily...not sure if the person feeding the cats/fish will be able to make it over in the morning to turn them on and then again at night to turn em off...
Now what do I do? :help:

They are cheaper than that in my area. Around $6 to $8. That large chain of department stores started by Sam Walton has them, also. They are near the flourescent lighting, usually.
I have looked at a lot of lighting for aquariums. I don't recall seeing any with built in timers.
