Sip, I think the cheapest most effective way would be to diy. But if you're looking for a plug and play system for your tank I'd maybe look into the aqua illuminations fixtures since they've dropped the prices to about $400 per module. Because your tank is much taller than the o.p.'s frag tank you're going to want something with a little more punch in order to penetrate to deeper depths in order to keep some of the more light demanding corals. Your looking at a minimum of 2 modules to light your tank.
