Ok I am now SERIOUSLY considering turning my 35 Gallon Hexagonl tank from a fresh to a salt. I was wondering what lighting/hood setup I should use. From straight to straight it is 24 Inches across, and 24 inches tall. I will be keeping mostly fish(types not decided) 70lbs LR, 35lbs LS, a few corals(types not decided), a serpent star, 2 tiger tail cucumbers, 1 peppermint shrimp, 35 blue leg hermits, and 18 astrea snails. I will also have a protien skimmer(type unknown) and 3-4 powerheads. What Would work best for the lowest start up cost. I can always upgrade later. Thanks in advance.

It realy depends on what Corals you will want to keep. For a FOWLR tank you can use any light. For corals you can go with PC's, VHO's or MH. I would go with MH since you will never need to upgrade after that. For a 24" tank there are many fixtures, pendants and retro kits available.

I dont plan on getting the corals for a bit after I do the change so PC's will work. When I add the corals I'll get MH lighting and move the PC's to my ten Gallon. Do they make 24" PC hoods?
