lighting hours

quick question i am just starting a reef tank w/ corals(in the process of) and wondering about the lighting cycles. i was told to keep my 10,000k(daylights) on for 8-10 hours. my actinic blue lights should come on about an hour before the 10,000 k goes off at night. should i keep the actinic lights on until the 10,000k lights come back on in the morning or only run them for a few hours after the 10,000k lights turn off at night and have the actinic lights only come on a little before the 10,000k lights. meaning no lights for about 6-8 hours. will this hurt the coral i plan on getting or is this how you do it? or keep the actinic lights on an hour befoore my 10,000k lights turn on and keep the actinic lights on for an hour after the 10,000k lights turn off and then no lights will be on at all until the morning? unless i just want the small blue led lights for my viewing but they have no value for corals, right?
