I heard/read that the Jebo is NOT true actinic, just a blue colored bulb. I went w/odyssea same as snipe I think. 120.00 delivered.

Yeah the lights listed under Jebo have the crappy antinics. The lights listed under odyssea "made by jebo" have realy antinics.
My were $109 delivered.
$89 for the light
$19.95 for shipping and insurance.

Yeah I have a 48" strip "its actually 47 inches lol". Im sure with a few screws it would go right up into a canopy. Also it comes apart really easy just a few screws and sliding of the metal and you can get all the ballasts and wires out to DIY it into a canopy.

You can buy the different bulbs for the fixtures.
I swapped out my "actinics" that were included with my fixture for 03 True Actinics from a third-party provider. They look very different when they are on (purple rather than blue), and they emphasize the 420 range of lighting (which is what zoaxanthallae (sp?) like.
The standard actinics are indded just painted blue. This does two bad things: (i) it does not highlight the 420 range, rather it just blocks out light in the other ranges, and (ii) by blocking out other light, it really reduces the lights output....turnign a 65 watt bulb into something far less efficient.
The true actinic 03 bulbs are well worth the money for good bulbs in my opinon. My corals have really liked the change.

Only the original jebo lights have the fake antinic bulbs. The lights they show on the site are always off. If they are blue and there not on beware. If all the lights are white and "they have antinics with them" then that is the real deal.

Snipe,
I acytually think there is a specific definition for 03 actinis which differ from regular actinics in the lighting spectrum. I know Kip had a big thread on this a while back.

There are to "real" antinic bulbs. Bolth are white when off. When there turned on one is blue and one is purple the purple is the "true" antinic and blue one is just a diffrent type. But the ones that are blue and there not turned on are just fake antinic bulbs.

I think you will be stoked.
As Snipe said, it will be white when turned off, and purple-ish when turned on. Focuses the light in the 420nm range, which is apparently best for zoaxanthallae and coral growth.
Good luck, and let us know ho you like the light.
