lighting on eclipse hood?

Has anyone added pc lighting to their eclipse hood without making any major modifications? I just bought my 29 gallon ecllipse tank and would like to add corals, but apparently the two 18 watt bulbs are not enough. I don't want to end up replacing the whole hood, though, which is brand new. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hiya,
I just set up my 37 gallon eclipse and there's a kit you can buy to retrofit the hood so it can be used as a reef tank. I don't know if you can get it for a 29 gallon though. I'd ask your LFS.

I also have a 29 gallon Eclipse sw tank. What type of filtration are you using? Is it the stock filter that comes with the hood or are you using a different filter? I'm new at this an was wanting to know how good the filters a on these tanks.

I am also new at saltwater, and my tank has only been running for a little over two weeks. I'm using the fitration system that came with it since my lfs told me it will work just fine, in fact any filtration system will work, it's more the quality of the protein skimmer that you want to invest in. I do, however, want to have corals, and heard that the lighting on the eclipse is not sufficient, which is why i'm looking to retrofit one.

what is the name of the kit you bought to retrofit your hood, and where did you get it? Also, what is the size of the lighting system that originally came with your 37 gallon?

Hiya,
The kit is a sunpao retrofit system. It is made for the 37 gallon eclipse. It fits into the hood that comes with the eclipse.
My LFS ordered the kit and installed it for me, they have been great!
You can try this site...it was on the box, but I don't know if this is where my LFS got it.
