Lighting problem with 29 gallon

Hello,
We are new to salt water and made the mistake of buying the Eclipse Power wheel setup..you know the kind that is all in one box to just setup and run....well now that we have been shopping around and setting up things up , we know we need a different light setup in order to do anything with anemones and maybe a coral or two. The problem is the light on the tank is actually made into the hood and that hood holds the filter and pump. We want to know if anyone else has encountered this and how they may have upgraded the lighting. The light fixture states that it is maximum 18 watt. The light section could actually be snapped off and another fixture that is approximately 29 inches long and not over 7 1/2 inches wide could be retrofitted into place . I have been searching for a more powerful fixture that would fit and I am not having any luck . Hubby says he can build us a wooden hood to fit over the setup we have and maybe hang new lighting on it . So far we have approximately 50 pounds of live rock and 2 clown fish . I want anemones for the clowns hence the lighting problem. Any advise would be welcome.

well those tanks, the only thing u should keep is the tank. i dont think the filter is good enough to support a reef setup. so a small sump or a nice size canister filter should do the trick, and as for lighting, anenomes are hard to keep (some of them) but they need very high intensity lights such as t-5s and mh, i would recomend the coralife 150w mh fixture. its real nice, its everythin and it has an arm that hooks on to the back of the tank.
try marine depot dot com under mh lights and its the coralife fixture, not the ones that come with the pc
