lighting question t5-or t6 ?

I'm looking for lights for my 30 gal. saltwater tank its 48 long...i was gonna get t5 or t6 but they are sold out in my store...they have cf 260 watts...1 with fans one w/o fans what do the fans do and is it worth it to pay a bit extra for than cooling fans?

I just read the difference of what T5 and T6 is...let me see if I can digest this...The number after the T is the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch...so T5 would be 5/8" and T6 would be 6/8" or 3/4" when reduced down.

I went with just reg CF 260 watts for the 30 gal. is gonna be a fowlr..i think it should be ok. thank sfor the help.

Yes more than enough if its just a FOWLR... and yes the T is the diameter of the bulbs measured in 8ths of an inch. Where the difference is, the output of the the bulbs HO in t5 bulbs is a different story, this increases the bulbs lumens per watt, coupled with individual reflectors makes the set up far superior to NO CF bulbs of any diameter.

well I went with CF 260 watts in my 55 what corals can I keep ? besides tube corals
can I keep lps ? what if any corals clams and or anemones can I keep its s std. 55 gal tank.

Softies and LPS are fine, but IMO stay away from clams, SPS, and anemones. PC just don't have the power.
