lighting question

i only leave my lights on for about 8 hrs a day. is that ok?
should i get one moonlight bulb and one regular white one for the day and leave the moonlight on during the night?

If 8 hours is going ok leave it. I try and keep all of my tanks on an 8 hour day as this is what i was always taught.
