lighting question

Ok, probably a stupid question but here I go.
My light I have for my tank has a blue light and a white light.
During the day they are both supposed to be on correct?
and at night the blue one should be on only right?
The reason I am asking is because I have been reading and some people are saying they shut off all the lights at night, it is a reef tank with corals and anemones as well as fish...
I have noticed that the past two days my finger coral has not opened up nearly as much as it used to. I've had it for about 3 weeks :notsure:
So if anyone has any input on an exact schedule to have my tank on let me know.
Thanks

Heres my schedule everyday....
Actinic(blue lights) ON 3pm
10k(white lights) ON 4pm
10k(whitelights) OFF 10pm
Actinic(blue lights) OFF 11pm
Never leave your lights on 24 hours a day. Fish need the day to night effect. I have my lights come on late cuz of my work hours. I like to come home and enjoy the tank.

Run them both all day ( around 10 to 12 hrs ) and turn them off at night. You can time the blues to come on and go off a little befor and after the whites so as not to freak the fish. Fingers often act weird but they need light all day.
