Lighting Question

I recently bought MH lighting for my 20g tank. I bought this with the idea of using it on my 130g tank that is in storage at the moment. It's 2x150w is this too much lighting for my 20g it figures to about 15w per gallon. Please let me know your opinions.

Your halides will heat a 20 gallon tank a lot. As far as too much light, it depends on what corals you keep.

well i'm just starting (with reef tank) so I was thinking starting with some basic zoo's to start.

Make sure to start your zoanthids on the sandbed with that much light. You can gradually move them up. I assume this is a 20 long tank, like about 12" deep?

yes it's 12" deep should I move the light higher above the tank?

I would hang that puppy about 15 inches above the water if it were me. If things seem to not be growing you can lower it.
