Lighting question

I was wondering if someone could give me some good advice on lighting. I am getting a 75 gallon tank and i dont want to be limited to what i can put into it because of light. How ever my perdicament is i do not want to break the bank on a light. I know the rule most people go by 3-4 watts per gallon but i am just looking for some suggestions.

Do you have a budget in mind on what you'd like to spend? You can either go with T5's or Metal Halides and not be limited at all in what you want to keep. Personally I'd recommend a 6 bulb T5 fixture. With that, you could keep anything you'd want in the tank and T5's are generally a lot cheaper than MH's are.

If you do a google search on MH retrofit kits I think you would find them pretty cheap. Or you could go on the bay of E and find some used kits really cheap.
