lighting question

i have a 28g reef tank.
i currenly have 96 watt retro fit 18 " 50/50.
i want to add T5 in my canopy 2 x 24 watt retrofit.
or should i just go with 6 x 24 watt t5 retrofit
i have lps and $$$$$softies right now frogspawn, candy cane, and brain and as for softies i have zoos, rics, mushrooms, xenia, star polyps, toadstool
let me know your thoughts im open for anything

If you wanting to add to the the pc's then 2x24 should be fine.
If your replacing the pc's then go with 4-6 T5 w/individual reflectors or whatever amount fits best.That should be good for SPS too....good luck.

i googled t5 and all i can find is 2 x 24 retrofit ??

You can go two Tek retro(2x24w) or even better the Icecap.They make 2,4,6 retro.

A 4 lamp Tek retro would work except the reflectors are too wide. Reefgeek dot com will upgrade the Tek retro to the smaller Ice Cap reflectors for 2 bucks each.

The bulbs are overdriven.Better but reduces the life of the bulb.Maybe 6-12 months instead of 12-18.They have come out with T5-vho bulbs that don't have that problem.If you can afford it,go ahead.T5-HO with IR will do fine also.

Looking again at your PM,I don't think they have IR.They are T5-HO though.I would go with 2 Tek Retro.Two of them will save you a little more than the link you sent me.Google Reefgeek about changing to icecap reflectors like reefraff suggested or pm me and I can send the link.
