I have a 55 gallon 18" inch deep tank. I'm thinking about buying the current USA T-5 fixture thats 324 watts. If I use these lights am I going to have a crazy algae growth in my tank?? is there a such thing as too much light?

That's not too much light. What lighting do you have now? You may experience an algae bloom with the new lighting, but this can be minimized by aclimating your tank to the new lights. Just have them on for a few hours a day at first, and then increase it by an hour or so each week until you get your lighting schedule they way you want it.

right now I just have a 48" 56 watt T-5 fixture. Alright I'll do that, how many hours should I have my lights running, after acclimating. right now I run 9 hours on my 56 watts.
