well...how do i calculate watts per gallon when buying a fixture? this, considering you'll see some corals need 6 wpg, etc.
thanks for the replies!

watts per gal is out dated what size tank do you have and what do you want to keep in your tank?

I would like to get soft corals like leathers and some different polyps. I definitely want an anemone or two. Right now I have two t8's...blue actinic and 10k and some polyps and tiny anemone looking things that came out of the live rock are surviving. This lighting is just temporary. Tank is 30 gallons with 36" lights.

anemone need alot of light. i would consider the depth of the tank, when choosing the fixture, not the volume.
i have a current nova extreme pro over my prop tank (6 x 39 watts), which is a 36" fixture. if you had this fixture, you could keep anything you wanted.
if you skip the anemone, i'd pick up a nova extreme (4 x 39)

What do those "tiny anemone looking things" look like? They are most likely Aiptasia, and are NOT something you want in your tank.
