Lighting Question?

Big, thanks for the info. I would love to know what all you are running on your 72 bow since that is what I'm setting up. Yours may be reef ready, mine unfortunately not.

Mine is what the wife calls my "Endless Money Pit". I used the excuse of "Therapy" after having a stroke! LOL
I wish too that mine had built in overflow but it does not. I use a CPI with an Aqua-Lifter set up on mine. I wish I had taken the time to have it drilled looking back. Even with the Aqua Lifter I am in fear of an overflow. I replace the lifter pump ever several months and keep a spare on hand. I am now working on a much larger Bow project and it defiantly is being drilled. As you can see this so called hobby can easily true in to a long time obsession. But there are days I wish I where at the point in this obsessing hobby you are at now. A big part of the fun for me has been the learning and camaraderie of it all.
Secondly mine is a bit different than many in that I have a basement sump-fuge plumbed in on a closed loop system. That was a lot of extra expense and time to build. But it has it advantages too, larger sump, cooler summer temps etc. Keep us up to date on your progress and good luck....... Warren

I am not an expert when it comes to lighting. I looked up the system you said and it looks good but the only concern I would have is that its a lot of bulbs to replace when it comes time, could be expensive unless you do just a few at a time. I personally like the MH double ended bulbs with a couple of t5s for Actinic Blue but these systems are also expensive. You can check out this site- hellolightsdotcom, they have a lot of different systems you can look at to get an idea of what you want to go with. Also you dont need the lighting system during the cycling period. Hopefully someone has that system that you are interested in and can give you more advice. You have a nice tank and with the right lights it could turn out to be an awesome reef one day!
Good luck
agreed i know i'll say oh i'll just get that one thing once i got it i'll want more that requires better lights thats why i just spent $689 on a 6ft mh only way to go is HALIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
