Will the JBJ K-2 Viper 150W HQI Clamp on Lamp be good enough for my 20G to keep clams, anemones, and sps corals?

nice thanks...I currently have a Coralife 2x65 W PCs but I was thinking of upgrading to the Viper
You do know for a 20G regular depth you can also use T5HO lighting....

which ones are the best for a 20g?
WELL I have a Sundial T5HO set on my 29G, and I have a clam, frogspawn, ricordeas, zoas, an sps, etc....
So I can recommend this light.....I know there are other brands that are just as good, but I can only speak for what I have :)
I think the important thing is to make sure they have the reflectors

HQI for clams?
I don't think so,
Just MH and LED.
As for Meowzer, how big is that clam?
I don't think your light is doing anything for it. Ive been wrong before...but everything Ive read backs up my top statement. Clams under about 1.5" cant photosynthesize well and need to be fed nutrients, larger than 1.5" they feed off light from MH and LED...but Ive never heard of them feeding off HQI,VHO,T5's...anything else.

HQI can be MH. I am getting a Pendant that's HQI and its 150W and uses a MH bulb with a 14,000k color temp

mh 150w would work over a 20 gallon. another option is 4 bulb t5 with reflectors. its really a personal choice. contrary to what some people hv said, many people hv successfully kept sps and clams under t5, myself included. i hv 2 crocea and derasa in my 72 under t5 for years.

k i will be looking at the t5 fixtures closer because i like the way the fixture looks better than the clip on light

1. 150w over a 20g....thats pretty intense!
2. Ive been wrong before, I know you could keep SPS, but never heard of clams getting their light needs met off any less than MH.
no matter. I got MH nonetheless myself.

150w mh over a 20 isnt much at all, if u consider they sell this kind of setup for 24 and 28 gallon nano. its all about acclimation. 75w mh would be way to weak, so the next step would be 150w if he goes that route. t5 is very good for 20-90 gallon setup imo, since the tanks in this range isnt too deep.

is there any LED systems that fit 20g tanks?
Store bought will cost you $900-1100(thats a 24-36" array)
Or diy for around 250-300ish.
I did see one for a 20g tank that was 700, but i think it was garbage.
