lighting question

has anyone ever tried these spiral compact flouresent blubs, they can be bought at a great price and 100 watts each. are they full spectrum light? wrong color for reef? would be an easy way to add 200 watts to the tank, must not work (that would be to easy)

I tried one once a few years ago, well maybe a little more than a few years ago. I think it lasted me only 6 months before burning out and it was only a standard bulb. Didn't really care for it, I felt it was a poor spectrum. Havn't really seen one of these bulbs since, and it was the only one I tried.
