Lighting Recomendations

I need to get new lighting and have looked and compared on every site I can find and read as much as I can and still have questions. 90gl tank with coral and fish. Forum says a T5 8 lamp will work fine on this tank or either a MH or MH with T5. When comparing prices they are close to the same. A TEK 8 lamp will run me around 650.00 with lamps or a MH with 2-T5 about 700.00. What would you guys suggest. I have found one fixture on
bay that is 250MH with 2-T5's for 450.00, cant find any info about manufactureer on it though. Give me your suggestions about which light and which company to go with. I cant do a retro light as my canopy is an open one with out a closing top. Thanks and help me out guys.

the sleaze-bay fixtures have sub-standard ballasts and bulbs. you'll most likely be replacing both.
tek, by sunlight supply, are good quality.
as far as metal halide or t-5, that debate will never end. i prefer metal halide. i have tanks with both, and i like the look of halides over t-5.
it's vanilla or chocolate....both will flavor the cake well.

current and coralife are ok, and seem to be the most affordable. hamilton makes some nice fixtures, as well as aqua medic and sunlight supply.
giesemann makes excellent fixtures as well.
these fixtures vary greatly in price. if money was no object, i'd probably go with a giesemann nep-tune pro, but it's crazy expensive.
you could probably find a hamilton fixture in a combination of mogul based 250 watt halides, and either vho's or t-5's for actinic, fairly reasonable, or a current hqi/power compact fixture.
