Lighting suggestions??

I'm in the process of setting up my new 90 gallon Oceanic Reef ready. The tank is 24 inches deep. I'm planning on doing most corals and possibly clams. Any suggestions on lighting? I'm curious to see other people's experience with lighting and similar corals. I'm leaning towards metal halide, but what wattage would you guys recommend? Thanks so much!

Been looking into upgrading myself for a long time now, just can't find the pocket change yet. For clams it is recommended with a 24 inch deep tank to go with the 250 watt MH bulbs, this would take 2 of them. Then I would definatly go with a couple of Actinic bulbs as well.
I'm still not sure what MH bulbs to go with but have been looking at the 20,000k ones.

I would just get a couple of 250 watt MH with coral vue 15k bulbs. It gives of a nice color. Definitely not as blue as a 20k. The down side to not having any actinics is if you would like to create a dawn to dusk lighting effect.
Good luck

My display is 60x20x20 and I run 2x400 10K Ushios with 2x110 URI super actinics. Allows a very nice dawn/dusk effect...combined the lights provide a bright high noon effect.
I like the combination and would think the same combination could work over your display. The MH's including bulbs ran just over $400 and the VHO's could be done for under $200.
You could just run 15K's or 20K's for the blue tint but I like the actinic and bright light to be seperate. Comes down to a personal choice and the options are limitless.
