Lighting too strong?

This past saturday i picked up a toadstool leather wich has not opened up yet. At the LFS, they had it under some really dull, non-powerfull lighting. Now its in my tank with 2 175 w halides and some actinics. The coral has not opened up at all yet. I acclimated it correctly and ALL water params are excellent. Could this be too much lighting for the toadstool? I know some corals can take up to 5 days or so to open up but its been 4 days now with no progress. It seems to puff up a little when the acitinics are on but once the halides are on, it just shrivels up. Whats wrong?

i would put it on the bottom of the tank.. once it opens up start to slowly move it up to where ya like to put it over a few days time..

The toadstool can take up to 2 weeks to adapt, give it time, they are very hardy. As long as it is hard it is alive. It may produce a mucus slime that needs to be blown off which can be a few times before it returns to normal. I speak from experience.

Well for the first day i had it at the middle of the tank and then immediately moved it to the bottom of the tank, well, about an inch or 2 up from the sand. So should i just keep waiting then? i dont see any slime or mucus, i just wanna make sure its not dead
