ok i'm upgrading my lights and am waying the options on mh vs vho, i would to have an anenome for my two false percs and some shrooms or a clam and was wondering what would be the best lighting for my tank (55g 48" L)

440 watts of VHO, either the 46.5 inch or the 48 inch. That would give you 8 watts per gallon, room for a nice BTA or RBTA and many other types of corals.

i check everyones favorite auction site daily and i have found two 220 ballsts for $20 each that i'm thinking of buying

I bet its made by JEBO or some other no so good company. I have one of those fixutres, and im about to replace the 10K with some more actinic and get 2 175W metal halides for my 75. They arent that great, just a suggestion. I found some good mh retrofits that are very resonalby priced. Email me at jasenhicks@hotmail.com and i can give u the specs. Im about to order 8 sets of them tommorow, both 175w and 250w kits.
