i have a light that causes brown alage to grow on my dead coral and glass. If i change to a more plant like light the once that look like a black light will that stop my brown alage from getting darker and growing all over my dead corals and stuff.

this tank has cycled and the brown stuff on my dead coral was going away when i had my off for days but when I turned it on for about 12 hrs a day it all came back again so the lighting has had major role in the brown alage. So will a blue or purple light help reduce this?
