Lighting.........

I tried posting this in fish discussion and only got a response from one person and though I respect his opinion, I have never been one to take one persons advice as truth (no offense sharkbait).
Now, to my question. I have 4-65 watt PCs and the glass cover on the bottom of the lights is about a 1/2" above the water line and what I am thinking about doing is putting the feet on the lights which would raise them approx. 2 1/2" - 3" above the water.
The only thing that worries me is that it will affect my anemone by decreasing his light too much.
Please help me. I am leaving to go to Georgia for a week tomorrow and would like to get some input before I leave.
Thanks.

Is there no one else out there that can share their experience with me?
I will not quit until I get a few peoples input.
I just don't think it should be this hard.

It will decrease the light significantly. With the lights higher can you now remove the glass cover? That would result in an increase of light.
