i have a 60 gallon tank that has been set up for about one year and i have two questions. i want to up grade my lighting, and i am looking for a good affordable easy to use system that will benefit my tank. i have a sailfin tang, humma trigger, and various damsels. there is also about 80Lbs of live rock. any ideas about what kind of lighting to go with? i don't think i can get to much into corals due to the trigger fish, i think it would get into them.
also, i only clean the front side of my tank. i like the other side to be full of growth of algae, and sea muck. on my front glass i get the hard red algae spots that grow on my live rock. they are a pain to get off! am i missing an easy way to wipe those hard crusty things away? i use a sponge now and it takes me forever. please give me a clue or two. thank you!

I had a Power Compact and I kept everything except sps coral. Even a clam. It is a flip from MH lights...With MH lights put most things low, PC lights aim high.
To get that coraline off the front glass, use an old credit card as a scrapper...works great!

Credit card! i always wondered what those things were good for, thanks for the tip!

If the tank is GLASS then you can use a razor blade. It works even better. Just lay it down at an angle and then bump up to the spot and it is gone.
Do Not Attempt on Acrylic!
