Lighting

For FOWLR, pretty much any light that you like would be good. Fish do not have lighting requirements and neither does the live rock. Now, if you want to have corals down the road that is a different story, but you can always upgrade the fixture if that happens.

Thanks Gemmy ... Keeping Corals in tanks are banned in our country. So I am not getting any :)

Hmmm, I did not know that. I know Hawaii and California have restrictions. It makes sense to me for certain areas to have regulations.

We do have abundant reserves of corals in the Bay of Bengal (Andaman & Nicobar Islands) and The Arabian Sea ( Lakshwadeep Islands) but there has been a law in place about 10 yrs ago to protect corals from being sold in the open market.... BUT we have courageous marine dealers here who get the stuff from Singapore and ppl do buy them... Its a risk at the end of the day... as far I'm concerned - gonna stay away :)

Odd question for ya, what if a piece of live rock you get comes with a coral hitchhiker? what then?
Well, even LR and LS is not allowed. But I am planning to get it. Coz the case can be solved by saying we got it from one of the beaches in Mumbai. LR and LS has no issues mostly.. The corals are a bit risky and tricky to have. And if I get any coral hitchhikers - I will remove them :)
