Finally got my canopy and retrofit lights, Coralife Aqualight PRO HQI 150x3 and 4x96 Actinics. The tank is cycling, still have another 50lb of LR to add (200lb total) Now it's time to seriously aquascape and design my rockwork. 125g dual overflow tank. The LR is kinda just piled in there right now. Aquascape concept is 3 piles of LR with the L & R against the back wall and the center pile racetrack style with lots of caves. You can't really see, but some of the LR chunks are huge, flat chunks 18"x9"x3 with lots of holes. Tomorrow is electric cord cleanup day, I'm going to mount the ballast and transformers onto a telephone board and then mount the board to the wall, leaving a 2" gap, then I can run all the electric cords behind the board and give it a real clean look. Also going to mount 2 more fans in the canopy. Pretty funny when the light box is bigger than you

Figured out why I like this canopy. Prior tank canopies you had a lid that you propped up or you could only work on one side then open another lid on the otherside etc... This one the entire front of the canopy flips up and over and rest on top of the back part of the canopy. This feature gives 72" of width and about 10" of uniterupted workspace, no propped up doors or lids... I'll take some pics so that you see what I mean.

Me and a couple of friends went to Mexico and a whirlwind tour of CA fish stores...., today is cord and electrical day. I used 150lbs of Aragalive "Live" sand, not cheap but I really like this product and have used it on several tanks. No matter what size tank, it seems to cycle in 3-5 days using the Aragalive sand a shrimp. This is one of 3 tanks, cost wasn't that outreageous, i'm maybe 3k for everything, 3x150mh and 4x96 actinics retrofit kit, tank, stand, canopy, skimmer, sump, heater, LS, pumps (stand and canopy were very $$, could have gone with another brand and saved $500)

Do you know the brand name of your stand...???
I just ordered a new 120 (48x24x24) and want a stand/canopy just like you are talking about. The entire front lifts up. Makes it MUCH easier to access the tank to do maintenance, adjust live stock, etc....
looks good man. I will be following your lead soon.

Stand is made by All-glass.com this one is called the mision style and the color is a deep cherry burgundy, the photos make it look really orangish. This was the second one that I ordered as the first came in scrathced but they replaced it ASAP

The tank is in one of my retail stores, it's behind the cash register island. The space used to be a wall of cabinets and displays. I just layed down the rules with everyone,...NO WINDEX!...We have a lot of glass displays and use a gallon of windex a month, I kinda told everyone, hands off, don't touch it, don't feed it, stay 1 foot away from it...LOL.... I'll train them on how to deal with the tank, but for now I want to freak them out so that they will respect what goes into the tank. First wave of corals go in on the 15th, huge toadstool, frogspawn, hammer, colt, zenia forest, clams, BTA, about a gazillion zoo's, red blasto's, brains, horn, bubble and many more.. Just pulverized a huge LR chunk that was totally covered in purple coraline algae and then dumped this mixture onto the LR and mixed it around in the tank, i'm also dosing with purple-up while the cycle is going. I have no idea if this will speed up the coraline growth, figured that I would give it a try.

Wow, sorry guy all the fixtures are sold (needed the cash to buy the newest 125)
Here are pics of the hood, I'm pretty stocked about the way it opens as it gives me lots of room to work. I was really afraid that going with the retrofit would cause some issues. Got the wiring harness installed, that took forever. The board is actually mounted 1 inch away fromthe wall so that all the cord could be organized, I just wanted a really clean look. in the photo the board looks bend but its not, about 14"x21". There is also a fan mounted below to keep the ballast cool
