Lights driving me crazy!!

i have a 240 gallon with 3 retrofit 250 watt icecap ballast. i have had these for about two years now and everything was fine up until about 3 months and i made a post a while back where one of the lights would cut on for a few minutes then cut off. someone said to swith the lights around and that helped for a while but it started doing it again so i moved the ballast to another light to see if the problem was the ballast. now the ballast that was cutting on and off works fine, the other ballast that was perfectly fine is blowing fuses and now the other one that was working perfect (haven't touched or moved a thing on it) is cutting off and cutting back on. what gives?? i have everything running on my tank plugged into that one outlet, could all that be pulling too much power and the ballast aren't getting enough power to stay lit? im a clueless. i am just about to ditch all the halides and go with two 48" t-5 light fixtures. please help!!

Have you double checked all your connections? Have you tried a different (new) bulb on all the ballasts? Seems weird all you did was move the ballasts, so my first thought would possibly be that it's not ballast related.

Sorry for another post, but any pics of your setup; meaning reflector/socket ground and connection????

i can get some pics but i think what i am gonna do first is just take everything down and just start over, do all new connections, make sure everything is waterproofed and connected tightly. i know the one that is cutting on and off now, the light bulb in it is only a few months old so i don't think it is the light. Now where i have the ground wire connected is pretty rusted, would that have anything to do with it?
