Lights for Frogspawn?

I know next to nothing about this, so I need a little help. Our tank is pretty much a FOWLR right now except for 4 mushrooms and a green star polyp. A friend said that with the lights we have right now only the soft corals should be kept. We are getting new lights/canopy Saturday. I don't plan on having a ton of corals, but frogspawn is my absolute favorite! Someone is holding a frogspawn for me till tonight, but I won't be getting the proper lighting for it until Saturday. Would it be okay for 5 days or that an absolute, total no-no? My question is, what is the minimum lighting I need to be able to have the Frogspawn? I'm not sure exactly what the light we have now is (sorry, my husband knows that stuff!) Just wondering....

I do not think that 5 days will hurt it. I have had frogspawn on 1 40W actinic and 1 40W triton for a few years with no problems. My lighting is considered for softies only also.
I would advise checking for ammonia, nitrates and nitrites before adding it though since you have a FOWLR tank.

Also...they need a stable calcium level to maintain the calcerious skeleton(its how they grow)...and a stable alkalinity level to allow the calcium to be used...try to maintain calcium around 400-450 ppm and alkalinity around 2.8 - 3.5 meg/l...just curious...what type of lighting system are you up-grading to?

Mine did fine under VHO's only until I got the halides. I feed mine 2x a week though.
