:happyfish hi, my brother's tank is inendated with limpets. They can really reproduce if you don't watch them. I personally don't like limpets, because when they reproduce, you can't get rid of them. I mean he has them in every square inch of his tank. Good luck, ali

alison thanks for responding. Does he have any pictures he could supply you/me with? I took some of the babies to a fish store and the guy said "consider yourself lucky. " He had never seen anything like this. He said once I start getting to 100, bring them in and he will sell them for me. Maybe your brother could check in to that.

:happyfish Ya, that's a great idea about selling them. Thanks. He's got hundreds of them. Sorry my digital camera is down, and he doesn't have one. All the limpets are the size of a quarter of my pinky nail. He kills at least 50 each time he cleans the glass, or at least they just get knocked off to the bottom. They are neat, but he had them just take over his tank. I mean you can barely see rock now. Good luck with yours, and hopefully yours don't take over your tank like my brothers tank.

Yeah hopefully they won't take over! I have another 30 gallon sitting in my basement. I could just convert that one and use mine as a "limpet only" tank!!!
Thanks for the info and let me know when you get some pictures!

Is there any way to get rid of them if they do get outta hand? My tank is starting to get alot of them. I was told they were no harm to anything mind you.....

I have not heard of chitons..........do you have any pictures or what are they?
IF they do get out of control, the guy at the fish store said no harm, they eat algae so if anythi8ng your tank will be really clean. The only concern I had/have, is I only havve a 30gallon tank. What if there is not enough algae for all of them to survive?
Well good luck...........
