Hello, I was thinking about getting a liofish. I know it is an agressive fish. I was wondering what would be good tank mates with it. I have some coral in my tank. Also slot of people just feed their lionfish goldfish. Is this a good idea? Thanks. Feel free to leave any pics of ur lionfish or agressive tank setup

lionfish are NOT aggressive...... they just eat anything that can fit in their mouths...as for tank mates, what size tank do you have and which kind of lion are you thinking about?
as far as food, DO NOT feed freshwater goldfish....if the lion is not eating frozen then you need to feed atleast damsels or maybe ghost shrimp until you can ween them off and onto frozen foods such as krill, silversides, mysis, octopus and other meaty fares...

i have a 29g oceanic biocube. I have ALOT of room in it. Im upgrading a a couple months and was going to get a smaller lionfish and transplant it into a new tank, which i heard would be hard lol

your going to have very few choices,,, it would need to be a dwarf species unles you are getting a MUCH larger tank in the near future. Personally, id suggest doing some reading on the different ones and what their individual needs are...
You are going to be very limited also in what you can keep with it, like i said they are NOT aggressive but have very big mouths (and will try to fit things in there that can, lol) so in a small enviroment like that it will prbably be a dwarf lion with ? maybe an sfe? or a large goby? those are my best suggestions..

I advise against putting a Fuzzy Dwarf in a 28gal. I had a Fuzzy Dwarf in a 28gal long before putting it in a 65gal and it was a struggle to maintain the water quality and I was running a HOB protein skimmer and everything. These are messy eaters.

I have a Volitan lionfish (avatar) in a 100g, ready to go in a 180g tank. If you're going with a lion, go with a bigger tank. they get pretty boring in a small tank, they just find a spot and lay there most of the day. In a big tank, they swim around every now-and-then.

Im going to most likely going to upgrade up to a 300g. I'll put a lionfish and a trigger, and some larger tangs. What do you guys think?

Lions and triggers don't mix very well. You'll end up with a dead lion.

With lions, no triggers or agressive puffers. Otherwise any fish is fine as long as it's not small enough to get eaten. Just avoid puffers and especially triggers.
