Sorry for your loss too. My LFS said that my lion lived a long time. I told her that I bought it in December so that would have been 6 months, that is not a long time for a fish in my opinion. Everything I read says that they are very hardy fish, but one slip up with the water and you pay dearly for it. But like you say this is one way to learn I guess it is to bad that it has to be at the fishes expense though.
Three things I would never get again are:
Starfish
Urchins
Lions
I will enjoy them when I go to Hawaii in January snorkeling or in the aquarium there instead.

I sure loved having the lion and wished I still had it but that is how this hobby goes sometimes. Maybe I can help other by the mistakes I have made......

As for fish I have:
1 Coral Beauty Angel
1 White Strip Maroon Clown
1 Yellowtail Blue Damsel (this fish has been with me from the start)..

If I can I would not mind "one" small colorful fish to this tank if I can:
Firefish
Clown Goby
Yellow Watchman Goby
Bi-Color Blenny
Any suggestions?

i have a Canary Blenny .. hes beautiful with lots of personality.. he likes my nassarious snails :hilarious but bi-color blennys are also very pretty

The eye of the fish popped today and there was a huge hole there, its eye was completely gone. The fish was gasping and at the bottom shaking also. So this has been a learning curve no doubt. I think my water quality might have had something to do with it and also a much bigger tank is definaltey needed.
So to all you lionfish keepers, make sure these fish have pristine water conditions...

I won't be getting another one, but enjoyed the one I had for the short 6 months that I did have it.

there is no such thing as fish heaven

I have no idea. I was searching for some coral avatars and came across this one. I thought it was pretty so this is it.
