Lion fish died...tank poisoned?

Our lionfish died this weekend while I was out of town. He was okay and alive Friday night when I left, but dead when I arrived back home Saturday afternoon. I took him out of the tank, which left my clownfish alone in there. Then next day, Monday, I went to look at the tank and the clown had ich EVERYWHERE. I got him out of there and into the qt, but he died last night, despite my best efforts to save him. The clown was a very hardy fish, and we've had him for quite a while, so I'm very surprised things went so bad so fast. I'm wondering if the lion fish poisoned the water in my big tank, and if so, how do I check it, and how do I fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

i dont think that your lion poisoned your tank, never heard of it try testing your water and see what your readings are

i'm pretty sure it doesn't poison your tank if it dies in there. if it did i'm sure people would stay away from them just like they do boxfish and cowfish.

OK, thanks for your replies. I'm going to run a full gamut of tests on it tonight, but was just curious if there was something out of the ordinary I should look for. Like I said, the clown was a very healthy and hardy fish and he went from there to very sick to dead in the span of a few days, so I thought maybe something else was amiss.

ich in not visible to the

eye, what you see is the cycst that the body produces. so your fish could have had ich before you noticed ti
