lion question

I'm thinking of buying a Volitan Lion. I wanted to know if their reef safe and invert safe..Thank you!

The only reef critters it will eat are shrimp. They can achieve 13 inches in one year. If you plan on keeping it in your 55 it will out grow it very quick, try a fuzzy dwarf lion instead.

alright sounds good, I like those fu man chu lions too. Maybe I'll go with one of them

fu man chus get to about 6" and will also eat shrimp and small fish. they are also tough to get to feed. it would be fine in a 55 reef, but keeping it with shrimp would also be a problem.

for your size tank go with a fuzzy, much easier on the bioload

you could do a radiata. Adult size is about 9 inches. Mine never ate any crabs or anything and he was in there with crabs, cbs, and snails. He only ate krill and flakes. I would make sure you are able to handle the bioload produced from these magnificent fish. I learned the hard way. 8 months is still a pretty long time.
