Lion rescue

My friend bought a lion at some LFS and just found out that it wont do to good in a 30g. So i said that i could try to take it when i get my 180 set up in a week. But i had a question, would he kill a school of large cromis or a blue damsel that are in the tank before him? o and he cant sell it back in town because there is a venom law that prohibits the sale of venomous fish in kalamazoo, mi. Should i rescue it or should i just try and sell it back to a store in detroit (2hour drive).thanks
P.s. he just put a damsel in there (small) and it ate it right up.
Fish now:
tonga dogface puffer
small sfe
blue damsel 4 months old
lunar wrasse
Fish for future:
emper. angel
school of tangs (yellow) or green cromis (i dont know if tangs would work together in a school)
huma trigger
niger trigger
harlequin tusk
maybe a pair of blue tangs or some other substitute (i dont konw)

The lion will eat anything that will fit in its mouth. Also the puffer could be a problem as they will some times nip the fins of a lion. If you add the lionfish to your tank you would have to rethink your future fish wish list. Triggers and lions do not go well together, I have also heard that angels can cause them someproblems to.
IMO I would take the lion back to the LFS, that way you can continue with your fish wish list and would not have to revamp it. BTW Chromis with a huma would sooner or later end up on the menu, so you may reconsider the huma for a more passive trigger.

the lion will eat any fish in the tank that is a decent size smaller than him so i hope you dont like the others to much.he will attempt to eat the damsel but if it a smart damsal it will stay in the live rock out of reach.

I lion can and normally will eat anything that is the size of its head or smaller. I have seen a lion fish with the tail of a fish hanging out of its mouth many times before.
