could i put a panther grouper and a lion and a snow flake eel in a 55 or is that to much for the panthe grouper?

Your Panther Grouper will outgrow that setup in no-time. A lion may also outgrow that... What type of lion?

Yes, what type of lion? A volitan will outgrow a 55 very fast as well.

a dwarf volitan.

A dwarf lion such as the fuzzy dwarf, zebra dwarf, or fu manchu lion would be fine in that tank. Skip the grouper but the eel will be fine for awhile.
