The lion, eel, and anemone should be fine. I'm not an eel person, so have no idea about the snails & crabs. here's what one source says aboout snowflakes;
It can be housed with some invertebrates, like anemones and corals, but not crustaceans.

I have 2 Lions, a snowflake, 2 anemonies, 3 clowns,a saddleback grouper and a bamboo shark and other corals in a tank. I have roughly 40-50 crabs and snails. I have not had any problems so far. It is a really large tank and there is alot of room for things to swim around and hide if they want and stay out of each others ways.

I've had lion, eel, anemone, crabs and snails in a tank. The eel occasionally tested a hermit but I never saw him eat one. Doesnt mean he didnt. No real problem though.

I have anemones and stars with my eels and other aggressives (puffer, wrasse, tangs). No probs.
Wow, u have stars with your puffer? Is it possible to have a star using c.c. for substrate?

my striped dogface puffer could care less about my stars: the choc chip star or the sand sifting star. I was more worried about the lunare wrasse, but it just took a look and left them alone.
Regarding substrate, depending on the star species, I figure cc would be fine. You just need a surface that is decently mature - providing enough food for the star.

Thanks, perhaps I will try one out once my tank has been estabilshed a bit longer.

cc substrate is ok but choco chips can and may cause issues with anemones. My dogface never touched my star but did nip my color tube anemone ONCE. That was the last time though. Puffer became a bit upset from the sting and that was enough.

I have a Choco star with my Porcupine Puffer too, no problems yet. Not to say this is always the case, but Choco Stars are cheap and its worth a shot. If you're gonna do an anemone you should wait for the tank to be at least 6 months old.

No hermits ever survied long with my snowflakes, and I would be careful with the cc star I have had one kill other stars urchins and tried to eat my anenome but I saw it in time

May not be the best idea. I have heard that lionfish and bright lighting (required for the anemone) is not the best idea, due to the lions being susceptible to become blind, from the intense lights. This merely something I heard, and not have personally researched, however, given the typical wild dusk/night hunting period, reclusive nature, and larger then normal eyes, it may be worth investigating first.

hmm. that is quite interesting. I would have never thought of this. I wonder if MH's would be the biggest prob or CF and T5 would be too..

I asked the 30 yr owner of the lfs if I could harm my lion with too bright of lights? He said I'd run out of money first.

I've been reading a bit more ... seems as the consensus is:
bright lighting and lions don't mix well b/c:
1. It definitely causes undo stress for the lions
2. It possibly/likely causes retinal damage
In order to prevent this, accepted prevention was to simply provide many caves/overhangs that the lion can retreat to.
One person specifically said that they had a lion in 400W MH lighting for 10+ years without any obvious harm. But this was possibly enabled by the presence of shaded areas for it to retreat to.
So I'd feel safe as long as there are adequate hiding places for your lion.
