I have a antennata lionfish that has not eaten in over a week. He refuses to eat goldfish, thawed fish that lionfish are supposed to eat, thawed krill etc. He simply turns away. He does take curiosity but declines to eat. He still has good color and eyes are clear. I thought about glass shrimp but not sure if hell eat it. Help, please!!

Do not feed lions or any other saltwater predator goldfish or freshwater feeders. Its very bad for them.
Besides that the primary food for antenattas are small crustaceans like shrimp and supplimented by small fish. Get some ghost or grass shrimp, mine love grass shrimp and feed them live and later on if you have time ween them on to prepared food.

EASY! He is only asking why
. If you are going to be rude to people who ask questions than i will let a mod know and they will ban you! Well anyways the freshwater fish are filled with fatty acids and not the nutrients that saltwater fish have.

did I miss something the mods deleted somwhere? Freshwater feeder fish lack most of the proteins needed by saltwater predators and are very fatty. They will cause liver disease and eventual death. This is for any saltwater predators including rays, sharks, lions, eels and groupers and whatever else usually gets fed feeders. Ghost shrimp are not as bad since they are crustaceans and pretty much physiologically are the same as grass shrimp just in freshwater.
