yea i would like a niger trigger, BUT i really want volitan lionfish so i can sacrifice the trigger for the lionfish no problem..

I have to disagree all my experince with triggers and lions isnt not really a good mix. especially triggers like the huma-huma's that as they get older turn in dr jekyl and mr hide the can just go bollistic for no reason and tear the tank to shreds. this happened to me. I have also seen a golden puffer go bolistic and kill a 14 inch Pterois lunulata -lion and just shred the lion for no reason so you have to chose carefully in an aggresive tank.
I would completely stay away from the huma-huma trigger though IMO

Humu humu have a tendancy to play nice and then SNAP your other fish are swimming in the river styx . I don't mean the band either . I am talking they are on the boat ride to haydes . You better just drop in a few coins for the boat man to deliver them to underworld . Because they will be riding the round roller coaster . Deep sixed . Toast. Hasta la vesta baby . Bye bye . night night . Taking a dirt nap. Sleeping with the fishes . Wearing concrete shoes on their fins .Dead as a door nail . I am board can you tell ? Belly up. Worm food . Pushing up daisies . Anyways You get the point . Triggers in general are not the mellowest fish if they were they wouldn't be in the aggresive forums . Its all really hit or miss and you might get lucky to get one thats not going to become aggresive .

bluethroat, crosshatch, or sargassum would be your best bet.

Even though its been done successfully many times; IME, lions & triggers are not a good mix. In addition to reasons above; lions are quite slow and can be very hard to feed with quick, bold feeders that eat the same food (like triggers).

have had these 2 in together 4 a year and a half and they do great together the loin is about 8 or 9 in. the niger is about 4 to 5 in. love em both
i say go for it !
but definitely not a humu had one what a mean suckah niger,crosshatch,saragasum,blue chin,pink tail,good luck let us know what u decide.

The humu is not mean at all and not very aggresive either. The undy is quite shy and hides with my zerba eel for some reason. I also have a BIG dog face puffer that is doing fine as well. All fish have been in there for 6 months or so. I will admit that my niger is very aggresive when it comes to his place that he sleeps, but he lets the humu sleep one rock over.
