Who all keeps Lions in their Reefs? I figured they would be too aggresive. My wife loves them and I think they would make a interesting addition. As always any info is appreciated. TY

I do think I would recommend a Lion even a dwarf in a reef set-up. If for no other reason then at some point you will want to add some interesting little creatures and not have them become dinner.

Well, there is a very fine line between this subject. Technically if you keep a reef with inverts like shrimp and crabs you shouldn't get one. However, if you get large fish and have no shrimp and crabs then it is entirely possible. But you must remember that the smallest lion in the hobby is the Dwarf Lion which get up to 8 inches in any tank. You need a minimum of a 50 gallon tank and must not keep any small fish. Lions are very good predators so you can't pull anything by them meaning no small fish, no crabs, and no shrimp. If you meet all requirementts then it is possible. Any questions?

I'm in agreement with Lionfish. An all snail cleanup crew is easily done and recommended by some who prefer no hermits in reef tank anyway.

Thank you all. It sounded strange to me as well. My LfS guy told us it was OK and now I can let my wife down. OH WELL :(

No need to let your wife down if you don't get any small crabs or shrimp. You must admit Ranger that is a rarity when one doesn't eat inverts. I know how you feel about letting wifes down. I told my wife that is was impossible to get a cute goby in with the lions. Hey, but if you don't get some small fish and crabs and shrimp.
