I think i've finally decided what my wish list for the 22 cube is...
2 bangaii cardinals (male and female)
midas blennie
catalina goby
either a royal urchin or a snowball
fire shrimp
peppermint shrimp
tank is cycling right now with 20 lbs fiji pink live sand, 6 pounds of live rock and 4 pounds of tonga live rock (all with great coraline). Not in a rush but wanted to start planning this out.
I don't think I have any compatibility or size issues but let me know.
Thanks!!!

Bill Thank you!!! you're right, I just checked it in a different book no more than 72.
guess that means I have an opening for another fish....any suggestions?
and definitely tank raised on the bangaii, the lfs has a pair right now that are and I may go back and pay for and have them hold until tank is ready. Actually they'll go in the QT for a couple weeks first...

My peppermint shrimp seriously avoid being seen unlike my other shrimp so I would probably recommend a more "fun" shrimp. Skunk Cleaner shrimp are always fun or maybe a pistol shrimp to go with your replacement goby selection? Perhaps a Barbershop one with a Randalli pistol would look cool.
Back to your question, everything else looks good aside from the Catalina Goby issue that was pointed out. Good idea on paying for the Cardinal tank raised pair because it could be a while before finding another pair if those were sold.

Miami I have a peppermint in my other tank and he's always out and dancing around.
Barbershop goby is quite nice, I'm going to seriously consider that one! and I do like the idea of the Randalli with him but won't the pistol keep me from having other shrimp?
Pokey I had thought about a royal gramma but i've heard they attack shrimp? any experience with this? do they really swim upside down? this could be amusing.

I have 3 royal grammas in 3 separate tanks- all of them with shrimp. None of them have attacked any shrimp at all. In fact, they let the shrimp clean them. :)

I very much agree! The barbershop goby is nice. They are very peaceful. In such a small tank, do not go with anything with attitude. I am not sure the cardinals are a good idea either.

Didn't realize it was only a 22G- I wouldn't put the royal gramma in there nor would I put cardinals.

Really on the cardinals?
everything i've read says 15 gallon min. I'm also going with only about a total of 10 pounds of lr so there's more swim space.

Cardinls need a bare minimum of 20 gallons, but they are territorial. If you put a group of them together, one will be the Alpha. They create a chain of command, so to speak. One in the 22 would be ify. They have almost a similar temperment as a damsel. They don't like confined spaces and can be territorial. If you just had the male and female without any other fish they would probably be ok. They are fine as juveniles. It is when they get older that their attitude comes out the most. Again, in such a small tank, choose fish without attitude. You are taking a large gamble with those fish.

chromis and watchman are doing great, even after the exploding sea cucumber incident on Wednesday. 2 big water changes, tank re-arranging and lots of filtering later, the tank is clear as can be and the fish seem happy. I like to watch them find all the new caves and nooks and crannies when I move lr around. Everyone seems to have found a place, lol, the cleaner shrimp even found his coral skeleton he likes to hang upside down under, kind of funny different place same piece.
