I have alot of little spikey tubes, very hard and small, growing out of my coraline algae. I dont ever see anything come out of them and I know they are sharp by touch.
They are slightly wider at base and not very long. THey are not curved but straight.
Any ideas?

I dont think its snails or hydroids. Its only half as long as my pinky nail, nothing ever comes out of the little tube, and its so narrow it is as sharp as a blunted needle. The base is wider, it kind of reminds me of how a bee stinger looks, sorta. :notsure:
It never moves either.

Look closely are they white and do they appear ribbed (may not if very smalll like that)? If so they might be dentalium. only thing i cna think of.

I have those too. I have watched them and a web comes out of them when I feed the corals or I clean the sand. It must be some kind od tube worm.

Well, now they are all spewing forth what looks like spiderweb strands, and since I have alot of the spikey things it looks like a spider went beserk in my tank.
Still a good thing?

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I haver been having a problem with these as well. The secretion they let out get all over my corals and they dont open all the way. Is there ayway to get rid of these?
