I'm irritated my Rita was stuck in traffic for 6 hours on a 1 hour trip. I'm irritated when I don't get a 'Rita with salt.
But we landed some plywood!! Not irritating!!! Yippy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hunker down...she's a moving to the North....we may end up on the east side. Good news for us. Bad news for others (eg New Orleans).

I am irritated that two of my favorite posters aren't evacuating the area.
I fear for you guys and you will be in my prayers.
From what I am understanding this thing will hit Houston and it is the third largest hurricane ever recorded.

DITTO.........get out and be safe. We know how these things can change on a dime. There are still many hours for her to change. The right quad.side will be the deadliest. Last year it took 6 hours to go about 15 miles with Charley......... :scared: Don't wait too long.
I get irritated when my 'ritas HAVE salt because no matter what you do, you can't get rid of it.....

I'm praying for Louisiana, and all of those people stuck on the road. All of our neighbors have been coming out and visiting. The neighborhood is 25 years old and has never flooded, even in Alisha and Allison. My husband spent the whole morning with his rickety old chainsaw, trying to down a maple tree that died at the beginning of summer. Our neighbor came out and asked him why he was using a butter knife, and brought out his GIGANTIC chainsaw and downed the tree single handedly in 5 minutes. It was spectacular. Everybody's taking care of eachother and it makes me feel really good
The only place where people are becoming animals is at the gas station and at the watermill.
I feel especially good because Ophiura
is right around the corner from my parents and it just feels good to know that one of my very best friends and my family can get to eachother if they need to.
Our house has become Noah's ark. My husband's sister stopped by with her daughters' turtle, hampster, and rabbit. We've got two dogs, two birds, my fish
, and soon to be mother in law, father in law, brother in law, and friend with cat. I am stocked up on Claritin, as I am allergic to everything with fur. Crap, inlaws are on the way now, so I must clean like a mad fiend. :scared:
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, they are indeed needed and very much appreciated...especially in Louisiana.

You know, everyone's situation is different. If I had kids, I would be gone. But I have my elderly parents. They took 6 hours to get here yesterday and my Mom, who has severe back problems, can't even get out of bed because of it today. I'm NOT putting them in a car, with no destination from here well past nearby states...at least 15hrs + I would say, with no open gas stations and total complete GRIDLOCK. It took 6 hours for 80 miles and they left "early." Now traffic is a total standstill EVERYWHERE in this town. They are on the radio saying "this gas station on such and such a road is open!" THAT is what it is like! So we will hunker down. At this time, things appear to be looking slightly brighter for this area. So every family needs to sit down and make plans for what to do, and in our case, we aren't going anywhere. We may lose the house we are in...but only time will tell. We'll need the prayers...but I think LA may end up needing them more.

Oh, and happy to report that neither of us (me and Mola) are in mandatory evacuation areas or even voluntary evacuation areas...there are areas to the south that are major storm surge flood zones. If I lived there, I would be gone too!!!

Sorry for you in Houston. I hope you have generators or at least battery bubblers for your tanks. I know the waiting game on the storms stink. It's been raining here off and on for three days from Rita. If this hurricane season would just hurry up and be over. We still are getting damage from last years storms. Our oak trees are all slowly dying. We are up to seven now.

I am irritated by hives, which I am battling after a wasp sting while preparing for Rita. I didn't know I was allergic in any way. But my face is swollen, huge swaths of hives...but not involving breathing. Thankfully my husband is allergic and has experience, and my Mom is a doctor with epi pen at the ready. But it is a bad time right now.
