Anyone know what these are? Little white things that look like mini feather dusters. They have tiny little straight tubes that come up off the LR, seem to multiply fairly quickly, and retract when bothered.
I tried using boiling water on them and only a few died. Im 99% sure its not aptasia. ID help please????

Oh, and yes I know - thats cyano all over the rock. I've exhaused all means at controlling it and am about to buy some chemicals.

Why would you pour Hot water on them, what gave you the impression that they were negative to the tank?

My peppermint shrimp was keeping them at bay until he mysteriously disappeared. I dont really know that they are negative, but with the way they pop back up I dont want them all over my tank. Especially if they are negative.

They are miniature Feather Dusters, Harmless filter feeders and i think quite attractive, but i guess its really up to you if you choose to remove them, some of my mini dusters in my tank are actually orange and red.

Thats really where my question stems from because all my other mini dusters are bright red and have much smaller crowns.
So I guess thats one vote for mini dusters?

True... I tried increasing the water flow to the point of shooting the flow directly onto the rocks with my MaxiJet900. Didnt work. I give up. Chemical bomb time it is...
