Little white flecks..Pods?

Watts, Can you scrape some of them off the glass, take them out and put them on a piece of dark paper-then get a magnivying glass.
Truth its, in 40 years of fishkeeping, I have never had any of these things you are showing. Dont know if that is good or bad. The pods in my tank look more like mini-shrimp, sorta tan in color with bodies that curl up when you take them out.
When I pull my filter media, there are always bunches of them that i have to rescue and put back in the tank. My PJ cardinals eat them at night when they are swimming, but I have never had any on the glass.
Oh, anoid is spelled annoyed. As a teacher, misspelled words annoy me!!
But not mistyped, as we are all flying across the keyboard to talk to each other.

oops, forgot to mention. You can remove them if you want to by running a diatom filter for a few hours on your tank. It is a water polisher and takes minute (thats my nute, not minit) particles out of the water.
It concerns me that these could be flukes or something harmful since they are on your fish. I have never known pods to go after fish-its the other way around!

i think i have the same thing in my tank too :scared: . after reading this post i looked at the glass in my 10g and i noticed a BUNCH of these TINY things all over my glass. mine are way smaller than a grain of rice and move pretty quick. from what i could see, they are roundish and have like a tail or something. THESE THINGS ARE TAKING OVER OUR TANKS

Thats OK-JUST pulling your leg a little. As I look back at some of my own posts, there are quite a few mis=spelled or mis-typed words. It isnt important, the info we all share is.

These things are too tiny to see with a magnifying glass. I caught the biggest one I could find and it was too small to make out. Going to walmart now to see if i can get a microscope or at least a more powerful glass. They are not on my clown now, since I've turned the filters off. BRB and TY!!!

OK' Went to wally world and found a genuine csi investigation kit, complete with a 300x microscope WOOO HOOO!
Believe it or not the thing worked!
After spending probably 1 1/2 hrs trying to get one of those buggers on the scope WALLAH> Copepods! 100x magnification needed though to see them! These guys are small!
There are some others in there too that look like little jelly fish. Havent caught one of those yet but i will to check it out!Thank you Thomas, Granny and everyone else who have helped me out on this.
This site is the bomb!
This is the exact ones i have seen! Not sure of the web looking stuff. Would my clown be eating these?

Grats on figuring it out Watts.
As for the co
ebs you mentioned earlier, did it look like strings coming out of tubes? There are worms that put out these tiny strings to filter out particles in the water, and then pull them in and feed on them.
Also, about the jellyfish you mentioned, do a search on hydroids. There are even some pics in the hitchhiker thread.

Very good, and of course pods are a good thing and free natural food for any fish.
Hey! what did that micro scope cost you?

Strands where suspended throughout the tank, only occured when the powerfilters where off. Calcium i believe. Ill look for the jellyfish things thanks. Found the kids kit in the cearwence section for 25 buck. Microscope works but not real easy to use!!! TOY makers! They make these for our kids to use and i barely figured it out.
THANX AGAIN ALL!
