Little white things

I wish I could take a picture of these things but they are just to small. I have these very small little white creatures running all over the sides of my 55 gal. Kind of look like sugar ants, but smaller. Any idea what they could be and how I could ID them? Thankx. Love this board.

good probability that its just copepods. they are beneficial, and help clean your tank. i think they are part of the shrimp family. dont worry, its a sign of a healthy tank

These things are small about the size of a period but more oval like an ant. So smaller then what you are pointing to. More like whats in front of what you are pointing to. Thankx.

No these things are smaller. Maybe nymphs of what your showing me? I will try to take a picture tomorrow. Left my camera at work. They move pretty fast. Theres a lot of them. Stay around the algae on the side of the tank.

They are copepods, you just aren't getting the size reference. Here's some more...

LOL...GREAT pics shrimpi!!
If that's what you're seeing, copepods...very good. In Shrimpi's first pic, the ones that are kinda spiral looking...they're a bit more rigid on the glass. Those are spirorbid worms...teeny tiny featherdusters essentially...all new tanks have them, nothing to worry about. Good job!!

Here are the best I could get of them. The ones with the black arrows are the bigger of the two types of "little white bugs" the other is about 1/4 that size and move much quickier. I except they are some sort of pods. Just want to show how small they are. I also took a pic of what I think is snail eggs? Also something that I found on my glass today. Its branching with purple feather like things at the tips of the branching.
Thankx again

I just thought I would post this here. This is my seahorse tank, cycling since, hmmmm, a month or so. All those tiny dots on the glass...pods. These were taken last week, and population has grown since then...great for my horses. The glass, rocks and sand is just crawling with life. :cheer:
