Live crab outside it's shell

I looked in my tank after work today and saw what looked to be the left overs of a shrimp that had molted. Then in moved and started walking around on a pc of live rock. It was a crab out of it's shell :thinking: I know they change shells but have never seen them out walking around like this. Anyone else?

Not sure what happened? Maybe the ones I have were to small and to big for the poor guy.

I've seen it before. My other crabs ripped my poor little guy right out his shell. It was like an all out brawl for about 3 days with all the crabs, til I tossed a couple empty shells in the tank.
