Live Rock Choices

If I want to get some live rock online, which is the best type of live rock to buy. I want to get some live rock that will sprout mushrroms and feather dusters. A friend of mine bought some live rock about 3 months ago and there is mushrooms and feather dusters starting to grow out of them, Im just wondering which would be the best to purchasing online if I want the same results.

I would go with fiji or marshall islands i like those the best and most of it seem to have small mushrooms and feathers

Any good live rock will have life that will start to grow. The rock from here is very good. I was very pleased with my order.

Thanks, I appreciate all of your help. After I get a PC light Im going to order some LR online from this site. It seems like to way to go. Especially since I just move to Kansas City and all of the LFS's around here sell the stuff at about 8.00 per pound!

I have three different types of rock in my tank. Marshall island, fiji, and Caribbean live rock. I like the look of marshall island b/c it has many holes and great shapes. Fiji is great too mine had a couple of feather dusters and sponges on it. Caribbean is pretty smooth making it good to put certain corals on. So i guess it's really up to you.

hey Spuds you hit the nail right on the head. Come southwest about 150 miles and it is the same thing down here. Tank is cheaper then the Live rock

There is one store in OKC that has live rock for 4 dollars and other places for different types all the way to 12$.
